WEB DESK: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced its closure tomorrow, May 28, 2024, in observance of Youm-e-Takbeer, a public holiday declared by the Government of Pakistan. This closure extends to commercial banks across the country, as stated in a notice issued by the central bank.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared May 28 as a public holiday, emphasising its significance in reminding the nation of its unity in fortifying Pakistan’s defence. The declaration underscores the importance of Youm-e-Takbeer in the country’s history.

As a result of the holiday, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) will also remain closed tomorrow, with trading activities suspended for the day.
The closure of financial institutions aligns with the government’s recognition of Youm-e-Takbeer and aims to allow citizens to observe and commemorate the occasion appropriately.
