X (formerly Twitter) has launched its TV app, aiming to rival YouTube and Netflix.

Moreover, Elon Musk confirmed that the beta version of the “X TV” app is now available for “Android TV.”

Musk noted that the beta version is live on Amazon Fire TV, LG, and Google TV devices, with potential for expansion to more devices.

According to details and screenshots shared on Google Play, the X TV app is essentially a new over-the-top (OTT) streaming service. It offers a wide range of live local, news, sports, movies, music, and weather channels, accessible immediately or later, without the need for a set-top box.

In addition, key features include the ability to store shows in the cloud for up to 72 hours and the “Start Over TV” option, which lets users re-watch content from the beginning. The free cloud DVR service allows up to 100 hours of recording, with additional storage available.

Currently, the app requires an account to view content and is only available for Android Smart TVs. Users can search for X on their smart TV and install the app.
