A camel, subjected to a horrifying act of cruelty where its leg was amputated by a landowner in Sanghar, has been relocated to a non-governmental organisation (NGO) shelter in Karachi. The camel will soon receive a prosthetic leg.
In the meantime, the police have detained five individuals suspected of amputating the camel’s limb. These suspects were brought before a district and sessions court, which has approved their four-day remand.
The incident occurred on Friday when the camel wandered onto agricultural land. In a shocking response, the landowner and his employees resorted to severe physical violence, ultimately amputating the animal’s leg as punishment for seeking fodder on the property.
