Former President Donald Trump has pledged to transform the US into a ‘Bitcoin superpower’ if re-elected.
Speaking at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Trump promised to significantly reduce regulations and replace SEC Chairman Gary Gensler, known for his strict enforcement against crypto.
Trump’s announcement of Gensler’s dismissal was met with enthusiastic applause. He also proposed forming a crypto advisory council to develop new regulatory guidelines. The Bitcoin price, initially falling to $67,000, surged to $69,000 following Trump’s speech.

Moreover, contrasting his previous critical stance on cryptocurrency, Trump now advocates for a strong US leadership in the sector.
In addition, he vowed to end current anti-crypto policies and prevent the development of a central bank digital currency (CBDC), positioning himself as a champion of the industry. Trump’s recent pro-crypto stance has garnered substantial support, including donations from prominent figures like the Winklevoss twins.
