Significant appointments and transfers in the Bangladesh army.
In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of Bangladesh, it was announced that Major General Ziaul Ahsan has been dismissed from his position.
Major General Ziaul Ahsan was the Director General of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC), an intelligence agency under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Moreover, this agency is responsible for monitoring the country’s situation, collecting data, and recording communication materials.
Additionally, it is authorised to monitor emails and social media accounts and record phone calls. According to the Bangladesh ISPR, Mohammad Saiful Alam has been appointed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while Lieutenant General Mujeeb Rahman will be the GOC Army Training and Doctrine Command.
Furthermore, the Bangladesh Army’s public relations department announced that Major Major General ASM Ridwanur Rahman will replace Major General Ziaul Ahsan as the DG NTMC.
It is worth noting that yesterday, Prime Minister Hasina Wajid fled to India in a military helicopter during student protests, following which the Army Chief announced the formation of an interim government.
