An aircraft carrying Malawi’s Vice President Saulos Klaus Chilima, his wife, and several other passengers has gone missing. The Malawi Defense Force aircraft “went off the radar” after departing from the capital, Lilongwe, on Monday morning.
Currently, a rescue search is underway.
Other passengers on the flight include Vice President Chilima’s wife, Mary, and a number of officials from the vice-president’s United Transformation Movement (UTM) party.
The aircraft was scheduled to land at Mzuzu International Airport. It has been more than six hours since the aircraft’s disappearance.
