WEB DESK: The Dubai Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, in collaboration with Dubai Civil Defence, has announced the launch of the 1 Billion Readiness’ initiative, the largest global programme dedicated to safety and fire hazard prevention.

Spanning 2025 to 2027, the initiative aims to train and raise awareness among 1 billion people worldwide on fire prevention and emergency preparedness techniques.

This visionary program, led by the UAE, is connecting 34 nations and 18 top firefighting organisations, demonstrating the UAE’s resolve to pursue an even more significant advancement of safety and security systems throughout the world.

Fundamental pillars of the initiative

Global Collaboration: The initiative brings together international stakeholders, facilitating cooperation in developing advanced fire safety solutions and emergency preparedness protocols.

Hope Convoys Project: Part of this initiative will provide critical equipment and construction of fire stations in poor developing nations, augmenting their emergency response capabilities and enhancing international partnerships.

Digital Outreach: Specific awareness campaigns will be through such specialised digital platforms in several languages and will provide certified electronic credentials to those who complete training, recognized by Global Wildfire Monitoring Center and Dubai Civil Defense Readiness Program.

Local & International Impact: It will conduct extensive campaigns, at a national level, to all segments of society from individuals to schools, government engines to private sector organisations.
