WEB DESK: Amidst the ongoing acclaim surrounding the Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Netflix series “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar” since its release on May 1st, actor and comedian Ahmad Ali Butt took to Instagram to express his dissatisfaction with the show.

Butt took to his Instagram and mocked the show’s poster, renaming it as “Kheeramandi” and dubbing it as “A Wonderful Visual Disaster.” Additionally, he strategically placed a demeaning emoji in the corner to portray his sentiments.

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi had garnered considerable attention prior to its release, with teasers of elaborate costumes and sets fueling anticipation. Bhansali himself had spoken about the extensive effort invested in the series, suggesting it would be a monumental television event.

Following its debut on Netflix, Heeramandi has received widespread praise on social media, with many commending its lavish production, music, and performances. However, amidst the accolades, there have been criticisms, including Butt’s pointed critique and other viewers’ concerns about the show’s excessive grandeur.

Heeramandi, which hit screens on May 1, features an ensemble cast led by yesteryear superstar diva Manisha Koirala. Joining her are Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadda, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Sehgal, Taaha Shah, Fardeen Khan, Adhyayan Suman, and Farida Jalal, among others, portraying prominent characters.
