In a highly unusual case, a man kidnapped a toddler and demanded the return of his stolen motorcycle as ransom, Islamabad police said on Thursday. The incident unfolded after the toddler’s father lodged a formal complaint with the Tarnol police station, prompting an investigation.
Motorcycle theft leads to abduction
According to Tarnol police, the suspect, who hails from Lahore, had been staying overnight at the complainant’s home in Islam Market on September 20 with his family. The following morning, he discovered that his motorcycle had gone missing and confronted his host. The complainant explained that the bike had likely been stolen.
Two days later, on September 22, the suspect allegedly abducted the complainant’s young daughter. He then contacted the father, stating that the child would only be returned once his stolen motorcycle was found.

Police investigating, search for child underway
The father, in a state of panic, immediately reported the abduction to local authorities, urging swift intervention. Islamabad police are currently investigating the case and working to recover the child from the suspect’s custody.
