WATCH: Faisal Vawda responds to Supreme Court summon

WEB DESK – Senator Faisal Vawda addressed the summons issued by the Supreme Court (SC) during his appearance on “Breaking Barriers with Malick.”

Vawda’s Response to the Summons

During the program, Vawda acknowledged the SC summons, stating, “If the Chief Justice has called me, then I will definitely go.” He emphasized his right to ask questions and clarified that he had not mentioned anyone by name.

Addressing Accusations

Vawda challenged accusations from Justice Athar Minallah, stating, “If Justice Athar Minallah accuses me of being a proxy, evidence must be provided.” He added, “If they throw their turbans, we will make a football out of their turbans. If you give respect, you will get respect.” These remarks were made during a discussion on a case related to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) amendments in the SC.

Vawda’s Concerns

Vawda questioned why he is being singled out when similar narratives have been presented by other figures like Talal Ch, Mustafa Kamal, and the Governor of Sindh.

Supreme Court Hearing

The SC’s notice of Vawda’s press conference and subsequent discussions during the hearing of the NAB amendments case have drawn attention. The case, set to be heard tomorrow, will involve a bench led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, alongside Justice Irfan Saadat and Justice Naeem Akhter.

During a press conference at the National Press Club in Islamabad, Senator Vawda condemned baseless accusations against agencies and sensitive institutions. He urged for evidence-based dialogue to address public unrest and warned against the repercussions of unfounded claims. Vawda stressed the importance of integrity among public representatives and the judiciary.

Vawda also questioned the dual citizenship of judges, echoing calls for transparency and integrity in judicial proceedings. He emphasized the need for evidence regarding alleged interference and pledged support for those who provide it.
