Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram expressed optimism on Thursday about India visiting Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy scheduled for February next year.
Akram, known as the “Sultan of Swing,” emphasised Pakistan’s eagerness to host India, stating, “The entire nation is eager to welcome India to Pakistan. We hope India will come for the Champions Trophy.”

He highlighted the ongoing renovations of Pakistani stadiums for the tournament, initiated by PCB Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi.
“This tournament is set to be significant for Pakistan’s progress,” Akram remarked, anticipating widespread participation by international teams.
He urged stakeholders to separate politics from cricket, inviting teams, fans, and media to witness Pakistan’s excellent facilities firsthand.
