The National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) has issued an early warning about the possible formation of a tropical storm in the Arabian Sea. According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), a low-pressure system is currently located near the Lakshadweep Valley and is expected to move northwestward.
“There is a chance that this system could develop into a tropical cyclone, with the possibility of making landfall along Pakistan’s coastline in the third week of October,” said the NDMA in a statement on Monday.

The authority advised citizens, especially those living in coastal regions, to stay updated on official warnings and advisories as the situation evolves.
The NDMA assured that it is monitoring the situation closely in collaboration with relevant authorities to take precautionary measures for any potential emergency. The alert comes after Cyclone Asna, which formed in the Arabian Sea in August, caused heavy rains in Sindh and Balochistan despite not making direct landfall.
