CHRISTIANSBURG: A Virginia resident, Miriam Long, found herself unexpectedly $1 million richer after a fortuitous mistake at a lottery vending machine.
Long, a resident of Christiansburg, recounted how she intended to purchase a Mega Millions ticket at a CVS in Blacksburg. However, a slip of the finger led her to accidentally select a Powerball ticket for the March 18 drawing.
To her astonishment, Long’s inadvertent selection matched the first five winning numbers, securing her the $1 million prize.
