By In a chat with Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif, Indian cricket star, Virat Kohli expressed hope that he would “soon” visit Pakistan.
Kashif, taking to his Instagram account, shared a video of his interaction with Kohli, in which one can hear his voice.
In the video, Kohli’s voice can be heard saying, “Give my regards to your family and all your friends. Hopefully, we visit Pakistan soon; everyone’s started visiting now.”
Kashif explained in the caption that the video was recorded in 2022 when he met an Indian national in Nepal. This individual, a stranger at the time, praised Kashif’s mountaineering achievements. During their conversation, the Indian man mentioned his connections with the Indian national cricket team. Seizing the opportunity, Kashif jokingly expressed his desire to speak with Virat Kohli.
To Kashif’s surprise, the Indian man reached out to Kohli on his behalf, leading to an impromptu video call with the cricket legend. Reflecting on this experience, Kashif wrote, “As a Pakistani, I proudly acknowledge Kohli as the greatest batsman of this era.”
It is pertinent to mention that 2025 ICC Champions Trophy will take place in Pakistan. However, there is uncertainty regarding whether the Indian cricket team will participate in the tournament held in Pakistan.
