Pakistan is now facing the possibility of an early exit from the T20 World Cup 2024 after a narrow 6-run defeat to arch-rivals India on June 9 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. This loss came on the heels of an unexpected defeat to tournament co-hosts USA, putting their advancement chances in serious jeopardy.

The Babar Azam-led side suffered one of the tournament’s biggest upsets on June 6 in Dallas, Texas, losing to the USA in a Super Over. The consecutive losses have left Pakistan on the brink, needing to win their remaining matches to stay in contention for the knockout stages.
