Karachi Arts Council President Ahmed Shah on Sunday announced the sad demise of veteran actor Talat Hussain.

Known for his distinguished career in radio, television, and film, Hussain had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

According to Ahmed Shah, the veteran actor’s daughter reached out to him to inform about the death of her father. “He was under treatment at the hospital for long time,” he added.

“He [Hussain] was not just an actor, but a man belonging to the field of literature,” the Arts Council President further said

Talat Hussain was one of the most popular figures in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, having worked in various hit projects.

He received the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence) in 2021 and Pride of Performance Award in 1982 from the Government of Pakistan. Moreover, the legendary actor was awarded Amanda Award in 2006 for best supporting actor in a Norwegian film “Import Eksport” and Nigar Award in 1986 for best supporting actor in film “Miss Bangkok”.
