WEB DESK: Punjab Information Minister, Azam Bukhari has said that the prices of vegetables in Punjab have reached their lowest level in the past 6 years.
In Lahore, Grade 1 potatoes are being sold for 70 rupees per kilogram, Grade 2 potatoes for 60 rupees per kg, whereas onions, which were sold for 250 rupees per kg three months ago, are now being sold for 100 rupees per kg.
Furthermore, Grade 1 tomatoes are being sold for 37 to 40 rupees per kilo and Grade 2 tomatoes for 30 to 35 rupees per kilo.
Due to increased demand for lemons in the summer, their prices have increased, but as soon as the new season arrives, prices are expected to decrease.

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz is personally interested in reducing vegetable prices. Maryam Nawaz has mobilised price control magistrates to control prices.
In addition, CM holds mandatory price control meetings once a week. Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, and Commissioners of Price Control visit markets daily across the province.
In addition, efforts are being made to maintain stable prices of green spices on Eid al-Adha as well.
