United States (US) President Joe Biden has openly acknowledged his age, stating, “I know I’m not a young man, to state the obvious.”
The 81-year-old president made these remarks during a rally, just a day after a widely criticised debate with his Republican rival, Donald Trump, which many viewed as a significant setback for Biden.
Reflecting on his age, Biden candidly admitted, “I don’t walk as easily as I used to, I don’t speak as smoothly as I used to, I don’t debate as well as I used to.”

Despite these admissions, he reaffirmed his commitment to serving the nation. “I would not be running again if I didn’t believe with all my heart and soul that I could do this job. The stakes are too high,” he added.
Biden’s verbal stumbles and occasionally meandering responses during the debate have amplified voter concerns about his fitness to serve another four-year term.
At 81, Biden is the oldest president in American history, having assumed office at age 78.
