WEB DESK: A wedding in India’s Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, took an unexpected turn when a disagreement over seating arrangements escalated into a full-blown quarrel among guests. The conflict centered around a coveted seat beside an air cooler, according to Indian media reports.
The altercation led to the bride refusing to proceed with the marriage. The groom, Hukumchandra Jaiswal, recounted that the event was proceeding smoothly until the argument broke out. Despite attempts to mediate and resolve the issue, the bride decided to call off the wedding. She expressed concerns about the future, stating that if such discord marked the beginning of her married life, she feared for her well-being with her in-laws.

Efforts to resolve the matter through the local panchayat were unsuccessful, with no definitive resolution reached.
In response, the groom filed a complaint with the police, insisting on either proceeding with the marriage or being compensated for the expenses and belongings he had provided.
