Pakistani expatriates, job seekers, and visitors in the UAE are being urged to familiarise themselves with local laws to avoid legal issues, according to a video advisory released by Pakistani missions.
The advisory stresses the importance of understanding rights and responsibilities to prevent imprisonment, fines, or deportation.
Hussain Muhammad, Consul-General at the Pakistan Consulate in Dubai, stated, “The purpose of this video is to guide Pakistanis in the UAE and those coming here to understand local laws, as well as their rights and responsibilities.” He highlighted that Dubai visas can be verified through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai (GDRFA), while visas for other emirates should be checked with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security.
The advisory also emphasises the need for job seekers to verify employers through official channels and seek help from the Pakistan Embassy or Consulate-General if needed. Key resources like the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation website and Amer Centres are recommended for labor and visa-related inquiries.

Pakistani nationals are advised to keep important documents, including medical records, employment contracts, and financial information, readily accessible and shared with close family members for emergencies. Additional recommendations include using official channels for money transfers, securing life and medical insurance, and safeguarding personal identification details.
Furthermore, the video stresses the importance of avoiding offensive social media posts, following traffic laws, and steering clear of illegal activities like fundraising for unregistered charities, drug use, or involvement in protests. Sami Ullah Khan, Community Welfare Attaché at the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi, encouraged the sharing of the advisory to ensure widespread awareness among the 1.7 million Pakistanis residing in the UAE.
