The State Life Insurance Company has reversed its decision to suspend free medical treatment under the Sehat Insaf Card in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), just hours after making the announcement.
This change came after the government promised to release Rs6 billion by next Friday, ensuring the continuation of the healthcare program. Earlier on Saturday, the insurance company had announced it would stop the free treatment service across the province due to the provincial government’s failure to clear its outstanding dues.

According to sources, the K-P government has paid Rs13 billion to the insurance company since March, but still owes Rs18 billion. The suspension was triggered when the government failed to pay Rs5 billion as previously promised.
However, discussions have been scheduled between the company’s officials, the Advisor to the Chief Minister on Finance, Muzamal Aslam, and the provincial health minister to resolve the issue.
The government has also pledged to pay Rs3 billion per month to the insurance company, though it has struggled to meet this commitment consistently.
