The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have ramped up enforcement of traffic laws throughout 2024, issuing 577,836 traffic tickets between January 1 and September 13. These violations have resulted in fines totaling more than Rs 48 million, as the authorities seek to curb traffic infractions in the capital.
In addition to issuing fines, the ITP has filed 951 First Information Reports (FIRs) for more serious offenses during this period, underscoring their commitment to tackling major traffic violations that pose significant risks to public safety.

Meanwhile, in Rawalpindi, the Traffic Police launched a targeted road safety campaign between August 25 and September 12, focused on stricter enforcement of traffic regulations. The initiative resulted in the issuance of 3,803 traffic tickets and fines amounting to over Rs 4.1 million. Authorities also registered 35 FIRs against individuals involved in more serious traffic offenses.
These measures in both Islamabad and Rawalpindi are part of a broader effort to enhance traffic management and road safety.
