Traffic e-ehallan system in Lahore now covers more violations

Lahore’s traffic authorities will now issue immediate e-challans for violations of lane lines, zebra crossings, and stop lines, with fines sent directly to offenders’ homes.

According to a private news channel, Safe City cameras recorded 73,000 such violations in a single day.Chief Traffic Police Officer (CTO) of Lahore, Amara Athar, highlighted the critical role of lane discipline in maintaining orderly traffic.

She stated that improvements are being made to road markings and urged motorcyclists to use the far left lane consistently. Athar also noted that enforcement on model roads will be stricter.

Data from the previous day revealed 15,281 signal violations, 12,000 cases of speeding, and 3,000 one-way traffic breaches. Furthermore, there were over 41,000 instances of lane line and stop line violations.

The channel reported that so far this year, 700,000 vehicles in Lahore have received challans for lane discipline infractions.
