Thunderstorms predicted during Eid holidays in Pakistan

The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast predicting wind and thunderstorms across various regions of Pakistan during the Eid-ul-Adha holidays. This weather pattern is expected to begin on June 16th and will progress over several days.

According to the forecast, the majority of cities in Punjab will experience this rainy weather starting June 18th. Meanwhile, the province of Balochistan is expected to encounter similar conditions from June 20th onwards, a timeline that also applies to the Sindh region.

The NDMA warns that the anticipated rainfall may lead to landslides, mudslides, or falling boulders, which could potentially disrupt road networks. This is particularly a concern for areas in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Galiyat, Murree, Gilgit Baltistan, and the State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
