The Punjab School Education Department has unveiled a new internship program aimed at providing opportunities in government schools across the province, including Rawalpindi.

As part of the initiative, the Rawalpindi District Education Authority has been instructed to submit relevant details. Under this program, each district will select 150 schools to participate, with two interns assigned to each school.

The internship will last for six months, and the selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of PKR 37,000. This program is part of the government’s efforts to enhance education quality and provide work opportunities for young professionals in the province.

It should be noted that last month, Punjab government also approved the recruitment of 7,354 College Teaching Interns (CTIs) across the province. On the other hand, the provincial government has also decided to privatise thousands of more schools.

The Punjab government’s decision has faced strong opposition from the teachers. They recently held protests across the province, leading to the suspensions of several teachers.
