The much-anticipated trailer for Season 2 of The Great Indian Kapil Show has been unveiled, promising a star-studded lineup of guests and a fresh wave of comedy.
The Netflix series, hosted by Kapil Sharma, is set to feature Bollywood A-listers including Alia Bhatt, Kartik Aaryan, and Saif Ali Khan, sparking excitement among fans ahead of its September 21 premiere. However, a revelation by Archana Puran Singh, a key member of the cast, has raised eyebrows, as she disclosed that her fellow co-stars earn significantly more than she does on the show.
Archana Puran Singh reveals salary disparity
In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Archana Puran Singh addressed a long-standing joke about her role as the ‘laugher’ on the show. When asked if she ever felt jealous of her co-stars’ higher paychecks, Singh humorously responded, “Paise ye log double le jate hai. Toh sahi hai na, mehnat karo bhai,” acknowledging that Krushna Abhishek, Sunil Grover, and other cast members are paid considerably more. She noted that while they put in the hard work, she’s quite content being compensated for her laughter.

Reports indicate that Singh earned Rs 10 lakh per episode in the show’s first season. While there is no official confirmation of a salary increase for Season 2, her earnings still surpass most of her co-stars—despite the reported pay gap.
How much the cast earns?
For Season 1, the salaries of The Great Indian Kapil Show cast were a topic of much discussion. Kapil Sharma led the pack, reportedly earning Rs 5 crore per episode, followed by Sunil Grover with Rs 25 lakh per episode. Krushna Abhishek earned Rs 10 lakh per episode, while Kiku Sharda and Rajiv Thakur took home Rs 7 lakh and Rs 6 lakh per episode, respectively. Despite the gap, Singh’s Rs 10 lakh paycheck still places her ahead of most of her co-stars in terms of overall compensation.
Season 2 on Netflix: star-studded lineup
