SHENZHEN: OnePlus has launched its new Ace 5 series in China, featuring the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro models.
The company skipped the number 4 in its naming convention, as the number is considered unlucky in Chinese culture.
The Ace 5 Pro, the flagship model, is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and includes a 6,100 mAh silicon carbon battery with 100W fast charging. Its 6.78-inch AMOLED display offers a resolution of 2780×1264 and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits.
Mobile gamers will appreciate its “double ice core VC” cooling system and a dedicated gaming chip, which ensures stable 120 FPS at 1080p. OnePlus has partnered with Genshin Impact to enhance the gaming experience.
The camera setup on the Ace 5 Pro includes a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. AI features also remove unwanted subjects and reduce glare in photos.
The standard Ace 5 shares similar features but is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and a larger 6,415 mAh battery. However, it supports 80W charging, slower than the Pro model. Both devices run Android 15-based ColorOS 15.
The Ace 5 Pro starts at CNY 3,399 ($465) for the 12GB/256GB configuration, while the Ace 5 is priced from CNY 2,299 ($315).
Both phones offer up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, with ceramic editions available at a premium.
The Ace 5 is already available on Oppo’s online store, with the Pro model launching on December 31. International availability has not been announced.
