Three elected members of the National Assembly from Islamabad have raised objections to the transparency and impartiality of the current Election Tribunal. The petitioners, namely National Assembly members Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Raja Khurram Nawaz, and Anjum Aqeel, expressed concern in their petition that they fear they will not receive justice due to their dissatisfaction with the current Tribunal. They criticized the Tribunal for displaying unnecessary haste, bias, and lack of impartiality in its actions.
They cited Article 4, emphasizing the fundamental right of every individual to be dealt with according to their case and to have access to a fair trial, whether inside Pakistan or abroad, for the determination of civil rights, obligations, or in any criminal charge against them. The petitioners asserted that the hearing of their case is being conducted in a biased and prejudiced manner. They also claimed success in the general elections of 2024. Additionally, they requested that Election Petition Number 73 for the year 2024 be halted by the Islamabad Tribunal to ensure the provision of justice. Furthermore, they sought further relief in this matter, including the appointment of a commission to provide appropriate relief.
