Strike announced: no chicken for Punjab residents tomorrow

In response to alleged government negligence, poultry traders in Punjab have announced a complete strike scheduled for April 17th.

Tariq Javaid, President of Punjab Poultry Traders, cited the government’s failure to ensure fair pricing as the primary reason for the strike.

The strike aims to protest against perceived unjust penalties, alleged excesses by government institutions, and the failure to adjust prices accordingly.

“Tariq Javaid, President of the Punjab Poultry Association, has stated that those shopkeepers who have already taken supply should not lift any further supply after 5 p.m. today, as they cannot bear any more losses. He emphasized that the government should either improve the supply or adjust the rates according to the rate list.

It should be noted that according to the government rate list, live broiler supply is fixed at Rs. 463 per kilogram, while in the market, live broiler is being supplied at Rs. 495 per kilogram, with an increase of Rs. 32
