Khanewal-based researcher Shahzad Faizi has identified six spelling and grammatical errors in Pakistan’s currency notes. Following the discovery of these mistakes, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has been ordered to rectify them within a 60-day period.
The federal ombudsman heard Shahzad Faizi’s complaint, during which representatives from the State Bank of Pakistan acknowledged these errors.
After admitting the mistakes, the SBP was directed to correct them in 60 days and ensure they are not repeated on new currency notes.

Talking to a local media channel, Faizi said that words play a fundamental role in promoting knowledge and passing it on to the next generations.
He added that currency notes are a symbol of our national identity. “When I examined these notes,” he said, “I found that they contain only four short lines with twenty words, yet there are six mistakes. I felt it was important to correct these errors.”
