DAMBULLA: In a commanding display of cricketing prowess, Pakistan women’s cricket team secured their spot in the semi-finals of the Women’s Asia Cup. Riding on the back of a comprehensive 10-wicket victory over the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Green Shirts booked their place in the knockout stages.
The win came hours after India’s victory over Nepal, which ensured Pakistan’s qualification.
Pakistan’s openers, Gull Feroza and Muneeba Ali, were in imperious form, chasing down the UAE’s modest total of 104 without losing a wicket. Feroza’s blistering 62 and Ali’s steady 37 guided Pakistan home with 35 balls to spare, marking the first-ever 10-wicket win in the history of the Women’s Asia Cup.
Earlier, Pakistan’s bowlers had restricted the UAE to 103/8. Sadia Iqbal, Nashra Sandhu, and Tuba Hassan claimed two wickets each, while captain Nida Dar chipped in with one.
The victory sets the stage for Pakistan to face a formidable challenge in the semi-finals. With momentum on their side, the Green Shirts will be aiming to continue their impressive run in the tournament.
