MULTAN: West Indies has set a 254-run target for Pakistan to win the final Test to sweep the two matches series 2-0.

On Sunday, Pakistani spinners dominated the second innings of the second Test too as Sajid Khan, Noman Ali and Abrar Ahmad shared nine wickets to restrict the visitors to 244 runs.

Pakistan will need 254 to win this Test and sweep the series 2-0.

Unlike the first innings, the visitors’ openers got off to a solid start. West Indies openers gave a 50-run opening partnership. However, first-innings star Noman Ali struck in the 12th over, removing Mikyle Louis for just seven runs.

Captain Kraigg Brathwaite fought back with a resilient half-century, but Noman Ali had the last laugh, dismissing Brathwaite for 52 in the 23rd over.

This left West Indies at 92/2, with Pakistan making significant strides in the match.

Amir Jangoo and Kavem Hodge tried to steady the innings but couldn’t last long. Sajid Khan dismissed Jangoo for 30, and Noman removed Hodge for 15, leaving the visitors at 124/4.

Noman struck again before lunch, dismissing Alick Athanaze for six. West Indies were 129/5 at the interval with a lead of 138 runs.

After lunch, Pakistan’s bowlers tightened their grip. Abrar Ahmed dismissed Justin Greaves for 10, while Sajid Khan removed Kevin Sinclair after a 28-run knock.

Tevin Imlach and Sinclair fought back with a 51-run partnership for the eighth wicket. Sajid ended the stand, removing Sinclair for 28, and Kashif Khan dismissed Imlach for 35.

The tail added 27 runs before Sajid claimed the final wicket, dismissing Warrican for 18. West Indies were all out for 244 in 66.1 overs.

Noman Ali and Sajid Khan took four wickets each, while Kashif and Abrar picked up one apiece.

In the first innings, Noman Ali had got a hat-trick to become the first Pakistani spinner in Test cricket.

He achieved this milestone in the second and final Test match against the West Indies at Multan Cricket Ground on Saturday.

Noman Ali went through Tevin Imlach, Justin Greaves, and Kevin Sinclair, lower middle order of the West Indies to restrict the visitors to merely 163 runs in 40.1 overs on the first day of the first innings of the second Test.
