LAHORE: Pakistan cricketer Babar Azam’s name will now be mentioned alongside cricket legends, as his bat has been displayed in the long room of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

The former captain joined the ranks of iconic batsmen like Don Bradman, Jack Hobbs, Mike Brearley, and Brian Lara.

In a message on X, erstwhile Twitter, the Melbourne Cricket Ground thanked Babar Azam and said it was an honor for us. “The honour is all ours. Thank you, @babarazam258.

In a message shared on X, Babar expressed his gratitude, calling it an honor to have his bat showcased at the MCG. The venue reciprocated his sentiments, stating it was an honor for them as well.

Babar Azam, who is currently in Melbourne along with team for ODI and T20 series against Australia, Babar gladly accepted the offer.

He shared, “This is the bat I used in the World Cup final, and I have wonderful memories of the MCG, which is one of my favorite grounds. To have my bat alongside those of great players is truly a privilege.”
