ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi has reacted to the former intelligence chief Lieutenant General (retired) Faiz Hameed’s indictment.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations on Tuesday, the process of Field General Court Martial (FGCM) was initiated against ex-DG ISI Faiz Hameed on multiple charges, including engaging in political activities and misusing authority and government resources.
Former star cricketer took to the X, erstwhile Twitter, to express his views regarding the ISPR statement on the next phase of the court martial proceedings against Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed.
In his post, he said that according to the ISPR press release, the formal proceedings of the Field General Court Martial have been initiated by indicted Faiz Hameed.
He said that his indictment will further strengthen the narrative of self-accountability of the current leadership and will dispel the impression that the powerful are above accountability.
