RIYADH: Superstar football player Cristiano Ronaldo said the FIFA men’s World Cup 2034 will be “the best World Cup ever.”
The world footballing body, FIFA, on Wednesday, confirmed that Saudi Arabia will host the FIFA World Cup 2034 in men’s soccer.
Portugal and Saudi club Al-Nasr star Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed gratitude for the host country, saying that it will be the best World Cup in the history of football.
Ronaldo shared a video on the social networking website ‘X’ in which he can be heard saying that everything in Saudi Arabia, is amazing.
“It’s amazing! The infrastructure, the stadiums, and the conditions for the fans. And after what I see I’m more convinced that 2023 will be the best World Cup ever,” he said.
“One or two of these kids that I will be together with today will play in the World Cup. I believe that they will continue to grow, especially the women as well, that they grow very well too. We have to grow together in everything. Not only in football but in life and I will motivate them to work hard, believe in that,” he said ahead of his meet and greet with young Saudi footballers.
He said that since last year, the (football) league has grown rapidly, which is very welcome. (In the Saudi league) there are currently 7 to 8 clubs that are very difficult to beat. Not only my team, but other players are also evolving and they are emerging as better players.

Ronaldo said, “Saudi Arabia is a wonderful country and its citizens are very good. Every year, football matches, boxing and big entertainment events are organized here. I think the future of the country is bright and I am happy to be a part of this country’s success. I am sure that I will watch the World Cup here.”
Yesterday, FIFA officially named Saudi Arabia as the host of the 2034 Men’s World Cup.
Hosting rights were confirmed during FIFA’s virtual Congress after Saudi Arabia became the only bidder following the withdrawal of Australia from the race.
