Indian captain Rohit Sharma was moved to tears, overwhelmed with joy at becoming champions once again. After the win, Sharma was seen placing the Indian flag in the stadium and celebrating uniquely by eating the pitch’s soil, a moment captured and shared by the ICC on its social media accounts.

The video showed Rohit Sharma sitting on the pitch, scraping and eating the soil, before standing up and walking away, clearly elated and content with the monumental victory.

In an electrifying final match of the T20 World Cup held yesterday in Bridgetown, Barbados, India emerged victorious over South Africa, reclaiming the title of world champions.

Moreover, chasing a target of 177 runs set by India, South Africa was poised to win but faltered under the pressure exerted by Indian bowlers. The South African team managed to score 169 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, falling short by 7 runs.

In addition, celebrations erupted among the Indian team as players were seen dancing and rejoicing in the stadium. Some players were also spotted talking to their families via video calls, sharing the joyous moment.
