LAHORE: The colorful players drafting ceremony for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was held in Lahore.
All six franchises completed their pick and teams have included some bug names who will be in action for the first time in the PSL.
New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell was the first pick in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 Player Draft as two-time champions Lahore Qalandars selected him to strengthen their batting.
Mitchell, who has played 70 T20Is, will debut in the PSL this season. Karachi Kings used the second Platinum pick to secure David Warner, a seasoned left-hander with over 12,700 T20 runs in 392 matches. Warner will also debut in the PSL this year.
Peshawar Zalmi retained Tom Kohler-Cadmore using the Right to Match option after he was initially picked by Quetta Gladiators. Quetta then selected New Zealand’s Mark Chapman, who has played 81 T20Is and is a dual international.
Multan Sultans picked Michael Bracewell, while Islamabad United chose Matthew Short to complete the Platinum round. Bracewell has played 149 T20s, scoring 2,744 runs and taking 66 wickets. Short will bring added firepower to Islamabad’s batting.
In the second Platinum round, Quetta used their Wild Card to draft all-rounder Faheem Ashraf and also selected Finn Allen, a hard-hitting New Zealand opener. Karachi bolstered their pace attack with Adam Milne and Wild Card pick Mohammad Abbas Afridi. Milne has 213 wickets in 186 T20s, while Afridi was the leading wicket-taker in PSL 2023.
The Diamond round saw Peshawar Zalmi pick Corbin Bosch, Islamabad United draft Jason Holder, and Lahore Qalandars add Kusal Perera. Peshawar also strengthened their pace attack by selecting Bangladesh’s Nahid Rana in the Gold category.
In the same round, Islamabad chose Australian pacer Ben Dwarshuis, who has 176 T20 wickets in 140 games. Lahore picked Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, while the USA’s Andries Gous became the first American player to join the PSL, signing with Islamabad.
Multan added Irish pacer Josh Little and West Indies spinner Gudakesh Motie to their roster in the Silver category.
In the supplementary round, Karachi Kings selected Kane Williamson, joining fellow New Zealanders Adam Milne and Mohammad Nabi. Multan picked Tom Curran, Lahore signed Kusal Mendis, Quetta drafted Sean Abbott, and Peshawar added Alzarri Joseph.
In subsequent rounds, Lahore used a Right to Match card to pick Sam Billings, and Islamabad selected Rassie van der Dussen. Quetta picked Shoaib Malik for his 10th consecutive PSL appearance, while Peshawar drafted emerging talent Maaz Sadaqat.

Islamabad also added leg-spinner Saad Masood and Hunain Shah, while Multan picked Ubaid Shah. The 2025 PSL promises exciting talent and competitive cricket as teams finalize their rosters.
