The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has granted no objection certificates (NOCs) to four national players for participation in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) starting this weekend, as reported by Geo.

Reports indicate that wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan, explosive opener Fakhar Zaman, fast bowler Mohammad Amir, and all-rounder Imad Wasim have been cleared to compete. Azam Khan will join the Guyana Amazon Warriors, while Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Amir, and Imad Wasim will be part of the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.

However, the PCB has denied a similar request from 22-year-old opener Saim Ayub, who is currently engaged with the national Test team in their series against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi.

The board’s decision comes after it previously declined NOCs for Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi to participate in the Global T20 League Canada. The PCB aimed to ensure these players remain rested and injury-free ahead of the intense schedule leading up to the Champions Trophy 2025, which Pakistan will host from February 19 to March 9, 2025.

The PCB, under the leadership of Mohsin Naqvi, prioritises player fitness and rest, maintaining a policy that permits participation in two franchise cricket leagues in addition to the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
