Multan: Pakistan has set 251 runs after West Indies spinner Jomel Warrican dismantled Pakistan’s batting lineup and restricted the hosts to 157 runs.
Warrican grabbed seven wickets in a sensational performance.
The visitors need 251 runs to win the first Test of the two match series.
Resuming at 109/3, Pakistan’s hopes of a solid lead quickly faded. Vice-captain Saud Shakeel and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan fell cheaply, scoring just two runs each.
Warrican struck twice in quick succession, leaving Pakistan in trouble at 113/5 in the 34th over.
Kamran Ghulam tried to stabilize the innings but managed only 27 before being dismissed. Warrican continued his dominance, claiming his maiden five-wicket haul and becoming the first West Indies spinner to take a five-for against Pakistan on their home soil.
The left-arm spinner removed Noman Ali for nine and Sajid Khan for five. A direct hit from Warrican then ran out Khurram Shahzad, who departed without facing a ball.
The final wicket fell to Gudakesh Motie, who dismissed Salman Ali Agha for 14. Pakistan were all out in 46.4 overs.
Warrican finished with career-best figures of 7/32 in 18 overs, while Motie claimed one wicket.
Earlier, Pakistan had taken a 93-run lead after bowling out the West Indies for 137 on day two.
Openers Shan Masood and Mohammad Huraira gave Pakistan a solid start with a 50-run partnership. But Warrican removed Huraira for 29 and captain Babar Azam for five, leaving the home side at 89/2.
