ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has triumphed in the Central Asian Volleyball Championship, defeating Turkmenistan 3-1 in the final match held at the Liaquat Gymnasium in Islamabad on Friday.

The green shirts secured their victory with set scores of 25-21, 25-19, 20-25, and 25-14. This win marks Pakistan’s fifth consecutive victory, maintaining their unbeaten record throughout the tournament.

In the semifinals, Pakistan dominated Kyrgyzstan with a 3-0 set victory, posting scores of 25-18, 27-25, and 27-25, securing their place in the final. Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan overcame Sri Lanka to claim third place in the tournament.

The event was hosted by the Pakistan Volleyball Federation. The closing ceremony saw Federal Minister of Planning Ahsan Iqbal presenting awards to the players, with diplomats from various countries in attendance.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the Pakistan team on their victory, praising their performance and teamwork. “Superb performance! Pakistan wins the Central Asia Volleyball Championship. Talent and teamwork at its best,” the prime minister remarked on his social media handle.
