At the end of the second day’s play in the third and final Test match on Friday, the English team scored 24 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their second innings.

Pakistan started their innings with 73 runs for the loss of three wickets on the second day of the Pindi Test.

Captain Shan Masood and vice-captain Saud Shakeel started the second day’s play on 16 and 16 runs respectively. Saud Shakeel also scored a century in the first innings of this Test, his fourth century in his Test career.

On behalf of Pakistan, Abdullah Shafiq scored 14, Saeem Ayub 19, captain Shan Masood 26, Kamran Ghulam 3, Muhammad Rizwan 25, Salman Ali Agha 1, Aamir Jamal 14 and Nouman Ali returned to the pavilion after scoring 46 runs.

Pakistan’s ninth wicket fell to Saud Shakeel who was dismissed for 134 runs, after which Zahid Mahmood returned to the pavilion for zero and thus the entire team was dismissed for 344 runs.

Pakistan scored 344 runs in the first innings and took a lead of 77 runs over the rival team.

Pakistan’s grip on the Pindi Test became stronger and at the end of play on the second day, England scored 24 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the second innings. England needs 53 more runs to cover Pakistan’s first-innings deficit and have 7 wickets to spare.

On the first day of this match being played in Rawalpindi, England won the toss and decided to bat.
