ISLAMABAD: Pakistani pace bowler Ihsanullah withdrew his decision of retirement from the Pakistan Super League hours after his announcement.
The emerging pace bowler, who has represented Pakistan in one ODI and four T20Is, was part of the Multan Sultans in the previous edition but this time no franchise has picked him for the upcoming edition in the draft held in Lahore on January 13.
Frustrated by the lack of recognition despite his outstanding performance in the last edition, he announced that he would not become part of the premier T20 tournament in the future.
Withdrawing his boycott, the cricketer said that he got emotional. “I had hoped that a team would pick me, but when that didn’t happen, I was emotionally charged. Many fans, friends, and supporters reached out with kind messages, which made me reconsider my earlier decision,” he said in an interview.
He said he has 4 months in the PSL. He will put in extra effort and will work hard to show them that he deserves a spot in the team.
The fast bowler from Swat also said that there is no plan to retire. He will continue his cricket.
Ihsanullah, who has represented the country in one ODI and four T20Is, sustained an elbow injury following the ODI series against New Zealand in April 2023.
