DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting scheduled for today to welcome Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah as the ICC Chairman, in which the Champions Trophy venue was also expected to be discussed, has been postponed.

The meeting will now take place on December 7, Saturday.

According to ARY, BCCI does not agree with the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) three-year hybrid model proposal.

Today’s meeting has been delayed because the BCCI did not respond to the ICC regarding Pakistan’s stance.

According to Jang, the PCB has informed the ICC that a meeting should only be scheduled after the BCCI responds to Pakistan’s stance.

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi also travelled to Dubai for today’s meeting, which was postponed before starting.

What’s Pakistan’s formula?

Under this new formula, Pakistan will also not play their matches in India during ICC events for the next three years. Dubai is likely to be a neutral venue for both the teams as per the expected new agreement.

During this period, India is slated to host three events from the ICC, including the Women’s World Cup 2025, co-hosting of T20 World Cup 2026 with Sri Lanka, and Champions Trophy 2027.
