DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) board meeting to discuss the venue issue of the Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to be played in Pakistan, has been delayed by 24 to 48 hours.
According to Geo News, the ICC has instructed both India and Pakistan to come up with options regrading the venue of Pakistan vs India vs venue issue.
The high-stake ICC board meeting only lasted for 15 minutes, Geo Super has reported.
Earlier, ESPNcricinfo reported that three options were on the table regarding the Champions Trophy meeting that took place today.
One option was that the Champions Trophy would be played in Pakistan without India. The second option was hosting the event outside Pakistan, with the hosting rights remaining with Pakistan. The third option was the hybrid model.
Pakistan and India clashes are among the most anticipated sports events in the world, with tickets for such matches being sold within minutes. If India and Pakistan do not play in the Champions Trophy, it will not only be a shock for fans but also a financial loss for the ICC.
