In just 298 innings, Babar reached the milestone, breaking the previous record of 314 innings set by Chris Gayle. He became the second Pakistani after Shoaib Malik to cross this landmark.
His T20 record now stands at 11,020 runs with 11 centuries and 90 fifties at an average of 43.38 and a strike rate of 129.35. Babar has also set the records for fastest to 7,000, 9,000, and 10,000 T20 runs.
Climbing Pakistan’s All-Time Scoring Charts
It comes alongside his crossing of the 14,000 international runs, now only the fifth Pakistani to achieve the milestone. Joining the elite group with Inzamam-ul-Haq, Younis Khan, Mohammad Yousuf, and Javed Miandad.
With 14,029 runs in 338 innings, Babar is now within striking distance of Inzamam’s record of 20,580 international runs. Consistency stands out among Babar’s spells in the history of Pakistani top scorers while he continues writing record books.

Pakistan managed to put up a flat-total of 206/5 in the second T20I, electing to bat first. The young opener Saim Ayub was the star of the day as he smashed 98 runs off 57 balls, comprising 11 fours and five sixes. The blistering knock helped in setting a brilliant total for the nation.
South Africa currently leads the three-match series 1-0 after edging the first match by 11 runs.
Needing just eight more runs, Babar will next target breaking India’s Rohit Sharma’s record of the most T20I runs, while his legacy as one of cricket’s finest players continues to grow with each match he plays.
