In a groundbreaking achievement, Pakistani cyclist Ali Ilyas won the first-ever gold medal for Pakistan at the Asian Road Cycling Championship in Kazakhstan on Saturday.

Competing against top cyclists from across Asia, Ilyas displayed remarkable skill and technique, securing the top position on the podium. His victory marks a significant milestone for Pakistan in the world of competitive cycling.

Ilyas, who is affiliated with Sui Southern Gas Company, had previously won a silver medal in the Masters category last year, making this gold medal a moment of immense pride for his country.

The national cycling team, comprising eight members including Ali Ilyas, Amjad Khalil, Abdul Wahab, Muhammad Ismail Anwar, Nisar Ali, Shayan Rizwan, Danish Naseem, and Atif Hussain Qazi, is competing in various events at the championship, which is set to conclude on June 12.

Syed Azhar Ali, President of the National Cycling Federation, will represent Pakistan at the Asian Cycling Federation Congress meeting, being held alongside the championship.
