The Sindh government has announced that from January 1, 2025, vehicle registration and transfer services will be accessible online, allowing citizens to complete these processes from their homes.

The decision, aimed at improving public convenience, was taken during a meeting chaired by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.

According to the Excise and Taxation Department’s statement, the new system will also enable online payment of motor vehicle taxes, eliminating cash transactions and promoting transparency in the tax system.

Crackdown on Misuse of Official Number Plates

Additionally, the Sindh government has launched a crackdown on the use of official number plates on private vehicles. Sharjeel Inam Memon directed the Excise Department to increase tax collection targets and expedite efforts, with the department already reporting 34 percent of annual tax revenue collected in just over three months.
