The cast of the beloved 1990s reality show “Shararat” recently gathered for a lunch outing, and photos and videos from the event have gone viral, evoking a wave of nostalgia among fans. Social media users have been praising the cast, referring to them as the ‘OG’ and calling for the show’s return.
On August 7, Shruti Seth and Karanvir Bohra, who played the lead roles of Jia and Dhruv, respectively, were joined by fellow cast members for an intimate reunion.
Farida Jalal, who portrayed Jia’s grandmother, and Addite Malik, who played Meeta, were also present. Simple Kaul, known for her role as the antagonist Pam, was part of the gathering as well. Videos from the outing, including one of the group singing the show’s iconic chant, “Shring Vring Sarvaling, Bhoot Bhavishya Vartaman Badling,” have been widely shared.
The reunion has sparked a surge of nostalgia on social media, with fans expressing their desire for a revival of the show.

One user commented, “90s kids only know this team,” while others have actively called for a reboot, with messages like, “Please remake Shararat; we miss it a lot,” and “Make a real real comeback please 😍 we need good serials.”
Shararat, which premiered in 2003, followed the story of Jia, a college student with magical powers who strives to navigate life’s challenges without using her abilities as a solution.
The show was loosely based on the American sitcom “Sabrina The Teenage Witch” and ran for three years. It also featured Poonam Narula and Mahesh Thakur in key roles.
Notably absent from the reunion was Harsh Vashisht, who shared a video of the event on social media, explaining his absence due to health issues. Despite this, the reunion has reignited interest in the series, which remains available for streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar.
