WEB DESK: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was threatened by a man, who has now been arrested by Mumbai police in the state of Chhattisgarh. The man had also demanded a ransom of 50 lakh rupees from Shah Rukh Khan.
The arrest came after Shah Rukh Khan filed a complaint, leading to the registration of a case of extortion against the suspect. According to Indian media the man, identified as Faizan, is a lawyer by profession. He had accused the actor of inciting communal hatred and even filed a case against Khan at the Bandra police station.
According to Times of India, the suspect Faizan referred to a scene from Shah Rukh Khan’s 1993 film Anjaam, where Khan’s character kills a deer. He claimed that this act was offensive to the Bishnoi community, as they consider the protection of deer a sacred tradition.
He said he was deeply connected to the Bishnoi community in Rajasthan and believed that any Muslim who harms or disrespects a deer should be condemned. This belief led suspect Faizan to threaten Shah Rukh Khan’s life.
Often referred to in the media as the “Baadshah of Bollywood” and “King Khan,” Shah Rukh Khan has appeared in over 100 films. He married Gauri Chhibber, a Punjabi Hindu, in 1991.They have two sons, Aryan and AbRam, and a daughter, Suhana.
