Seven barber shop staff killed in Gwadar

GWADAR: On Tuesday in Surbandar Gawadar seven barber shop staffers were shot dead and one was injured in the attack.

According to media reports, the incident took place when an unknown gunman opened fire on them while they were sleeping.

Gwadar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Zohaib Mohsi while talking to Dawn said that the incident occured around 3am. SSP Mohsin explained that the victims were employed at a barbershop situated in Surbandar, a locality positioned approximately 25 kilometers away from Gwadar. The gravity of the situation was further underscored as a list of casualties, meticulously compiled by the SSP, revealed the origins of the victims from Punjab’s Khanewal and Lodhran districts.

Meanwhile, Balochistan CM Mir Sarfraz Bugti condemned the killing of the workers. He expressed condolence to the families, vowing to provide all the support to the families.

“Whatever force is needed against the terrorist will be used,” the CM added.
